One night as I was praying and reading in Acts 10 I read the passage about Peter being sent to the house of Cornelius to proclaim the gospel. Cornelius fell at his feet and wanted to worship him because he was about to teach him God's Word. Peter was not fawless or infallible--you only have to read Galatians to find out what a serious sin he committed "theologically". Even as a Holy Apostle. In Act 13 Paul is nearly the recepient of sacrifices offered to him! His response is the same,"We too are only men, human like you." Finally, in the book of Revelation, John tries twice to worship the angel who delivered the visions of Revelation to him. In Rev. 22:9 the angel says, "do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers the prophets and of all who keep the words of this book. Worship God!"
After studying this through I had much peace. Gwen is not "right" about everything. How could she be, if even the Apostle Peter didn't have it all figured out? Much less Gwen, who is not an apostle or a prophet or an angel. She is simply a "fellow servant" with many excellent teachings to share. Let's not be lazy and absorb everything she, or anyone else teaches us without doing what the Bereans did, as quoted from Acts 17:11, "Now the Bereans were of more noble character that the Thessalonians, for they received the message with GREAT EAGERNESS AND EXAMINED THE SCRIPTURES EVERY DAY TO SEE IF WHAT PAUL SAID WAS TRUE." We must look at all the concepts and pre-suppositions in light of what all of God's Word teaches, not just the verses set forth in the program.
Do I agree with everything Gwen teaches? No. Is there value in the WDW? YES!!
It will bring us into a closer and more submissive relationship with Our Savior, cause us to read and pray more and examine ourselves carefully. And while we do that let us carefully and prayerfully study God's Word for HIS PERFECT ANSWERS.
His Word is final!
